Emma is a PhD candidate in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan and works as a Graduate Student Research Assistant in the IDEAS Lab. Her research interests are sustainable aviation, experimental aircraft design, and commercial aircraft operations.
Emma graduated with her B.S.E in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2024. As an undergraduate, she worked in the IDEAS lab, researching HEA design and operations. Emma was also Chief Engineer of the Human Powered Submarine project team and created the team’s first optimized propeller. Emma was President of Delta Gamma and active in Women in Aerospace and Astronautics (WAA), a club that creates a strong community of women interested in aerospace.
During her free time, Emma enjoys painting, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
