Çınar Receives 2025 AIAA Lawrence Sperry Award
Dr. Gökçin Çınar has been honored with the 2025 AIAA Lawrence Sperry Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions for early-career professionals in aerospace engineering. Presented annually by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), this award recognizes exceptional contributions to the advancement of aeronautics and astronautics by professionals under the age of 35.
Dr. Çınar’s citation highlights her achievements: “for pioneering research and innovative contributions to electrified aircraft systems and sustainable aviation.” Her groundbreaking work encompasses system-level optimization, and fleet-level evaluations for next-generation aircraft, addressing critical challenges in sustainable aviation through collaborations with NASA, industry leaders, and academia.
Reflecting on the award, Dr. Çınar stated, “This recognition reflects the innovative spirit of my mentors, collaborators, and students, who inspire me to push the boundaries of what’s possible for the future of aviation.”
The AIAA will present the awards during the AIAA Awards Gala on Wednesday, 30 April, at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC.
